Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 3.5 ounces kale leaves 100 grams or 2-3 cups
  • Oil spray
  • Salt to taste optional

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 C) for at least 5 minutes
  • While the air fryer preheats, wash and dry the kale leaves thoroughly. Remove the stems from the leaves if desired (see note). Slice the leaves into very thin strips.
  • When the air fryer has finished preheating, add the sliced kale into the basket. Spray the leaves with oil as you shake the basket. Season lightly with salt (if using). Make sure the leaves are spread evenly across the basket before you put the basket back in the fryer.
  • Air fry for 3 minutes, pausing briefly after 1.5 or 2 minutes to shake and agitate the kale. Serve immediately.

Notes

The stems have a more fibrous texture than the leaves and won’t become crispy. Their texture is closer to cooked broccoli. You can remove the stems if you prefer.
